Well we did it! We played at one of the country's finest venues at Music Live. The day started out at 9am when we set off. Jay Roady took us down in his car as I didn't fancy driving nearly a hundred miles then playing. Chris came with us for support! We arrived about 11.30 in Birmingham and struggled to find where to park!

We went to hall 9 where the event was being held and announced ourselves. We got our guest tickets and stowed our guitars in the Surface Unsigned bar where we were to play. We were supposed to be playing at 3pm but they moved us to 2pm as they had a lot of cancellations. Lee and myself got interviewed on camera by a wandering crew who later filmed part of our performance. Then we had a wander around and waited for Mr Fab to arrive which he did at 1.50, just in time!!

We played a solid 20 minute set and were greeted with plenty of applause! The set up left a lot to be desired though. A tiny, tiny stage with just enough room to seat the three of us. Only three because we were told it was to be acoustic and that meant no drums! It was really difficult to hear Lee on his bass and the vocals were not monitored back either. From where I sat it sounded really thin but apparently the audience got a good mix and we got some great comments off some of them after.

I rounded the day with a nice massage from some gorgeous young lady and we set off home!

Tameside Unsigned was another fantastic gig. We gave a great performance that we enjoyed thoroughly. We met Daz the event promoter and he is a really nice guy. He is full of enthusiasm about our music and is keen on helping us find a bigger audience. The Words were headline with The Harks supporting. We opened the event!

It is tough doing these showcases when we are so different. The audiences who go to watch the other bands don't generally listen to our genre ( if we have one ) but we are breaking down their resistance. Though some seem like they need permission to like other music they can't help being secretly moved in some way!

We also met a music producer who asked us if we would like to record at his studio. He was talking about bringing in a horn section which is something I have been after for ages.

The next day we got another call from Manchester Academy 3 offering us another gig but again we had to politely turn them down. As I explained to them it's not we don't want to play there but we don't think we can sell that many tickets YET! Can't wait till we can!

Here is more odd news!! Lee entered us in a competition for Surface Unsigned and sent them some music. We got through and have been invited to play at the N.E.C. in Birmingham in November.

We signed our TV contract tonight after a superb rehearsal. We went through the set we are going to be playing at The Very Best of Tameside Unsigned on the 24th.

Late, late night again

Well we set off at 15 mins after Mr Fab and we still got there before Mr Magoo. We landed on the doorstep of The ACWM at about 5.10 and began loading in the gear.
We sound checked and then had about five and a half hours to kill before we went on.
Flower was ok cos he went to his friends nearby but me, Aargh, Mr Fab and our mate Dan had to sit it out. We had coffee than went for a walk and shouted suggestive comments to all the local sexy girls.
We watched all the other acts and they were all really good. When we finally got on stage it was after 11.30 and we were dead on our feet. The performance seemed to lack its usual polish but after watching some vids from last nite its was really good. I guess I was too tired to appreciate it then.

We played last night at The Cheshire Cheese in Buxton. It was a full set complete with half a dozen covers.

There was a bit of trouble in the crowd with some daft heckler which resulted in the doorstaff chucking them out. I guess they spoilt it a little for the rest of the audience too and that isn't really fair is it?

Chris did a great job with the mixing desk and we ended up with another gig offer. Thanks to the local paper for putting the article in for the gig!

We got to load and unload Mr Fabs van soon cos we are playing in Altrincham tonight. Another mint gig as we are headling a great line up and we are really looking forward to a packed audience. We go on at 11.25pm so its gonna be another late one home.

Oh yeah! More excitment as the TV contracts came this morning by courier for the show we are gonna be recording for Sky.

Wizz of a week!

What a week this has been. The my space thing has gone a bit mad cos I been getting like 60 messages n notifications. The news, ha ha loads to say about whats new in the lives of the band. Earlier this week we made friends with face book group modzine, and just cos we r that cheeky we asked who we had to bribe to play there festival. Their organiser gave Lee her number and asked him to ring. He did and now we are playing at The Modzine Weekender next year in March. Mint! And as if to add the giggle to this joyous parade some one mailed us and asked we were applying for this TV show. We weren't as we didn't know nowt about it! So we did and the next day we get told we are in!! Wow fantastic in what? Well here's the jaw dropping bit ( yes my chin was on me knee) They are gonna film a short set of four songs in a nightclub in York with an interview by some celeb and its gonna be shown on Propeller TV on Sky. When? 30Th Jan 2010. Somehow we got selected for the 30 best new bands of 2010! Whoop whoop!
